Bristol Bay Resilience Collaborative

working together to build
climate resilience in Bristol Bay

Welcome!

The Bristol Bay Resilience Collaborative was formed in 2025 to support people, Tribes, and communities in Bristol Bay and increase their resilience to climate change and its economic, ecological, cultural, and social impacts. We are housed within the Bristol Bay Native Association’s Climate Adaptation Program, and our partners include UAF’s Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Preparedness, Adaptation International, and the Alaska Conservation Foundation.

Building Coastal Resilience in Bristol Bay

Communities in Bristol Bay are facing a number of climate-related challenges, including coastal erosion, intensifying storms, and shifting distributions of subsistence species. We’re working with communities to build coastal resilience in Bristol Bay in the following ways:

Providing Technical Assistance

We offer grant support, climate adaptation planning, trainings, and more to aid new and existing coastal resilience efforts by Tribes, organizations, and communities.

Creating Learning Resources

We're developing a place-based climate curriculum for K-12 teachers and students in Bristol Bay and assisting with science-related activities for culture camps.
